Our traditional Hotel Heiderose is located in the dune heath directly in the national park. The West Beach is only a few hundred meters away. We are open from March 15th to October 31st. 2024 will be our last season before the major renovation of Heiderose. Secure your summer stay now at early bird rates! The island behind the island: From Rügen across the sea to the Dünenheide is the first adventure of the vacation. After a hearty breakfast, wander along the sandy paths of the violet blooming heath to the secluded Weststrand. Even in the height of summer, no day visitors find their way here. There is much to explore on the island: The northern “mountainous” region with its lighthouse, the sandbars inhabited only by sheep, the artist village of Kloster, or the southern fishing port of Neuendorf.

Follow the sandy path through the Dünenheide. After a few minutes, you will reach the bathing beach

Hotel Heiderose is located in the middle of the island, between the “island capital” Vitte and the southern port of Neuendorf. From the hotel, you have a panoramic view of the Bodden all the way to Schaprode on Rügen. You are a guest amidst the Dünenheide of the National Park. Here, the heather blooms violet in late summer. You can reach the sandy beach in just a few minutes via the sandy paths of the Dünenheide. A beach day cannot be quieter and more carefree than here.

Hafenkater, Vitte

The Hafenkater has quickly become one of the island’s most popular restaurants. The modern menu combined with the local roots of local farmer and restaurateur Schilling from Schaprode has set new gastronomic trends on Hiddensee.

Tante Hedwig, Vitte

Tante Hedwig is a café and farm store with something for everyone. Here you can find bread & rolls, sausage and cheese, eggs & butter and lots of little things. In the café, the toasts and cakes are particularly recommended.

A small restaurant and a large gastro garden in a fantastic location directly below the dyke at the northern end of Vitte. Reservations are recommended for the restaurant. The Buhne is known for the best cod on the island.

The Wieseneck is a small hotel and restaurant in the heart of Kloster. There is a large dining room with a back room and a beautiful garden terrace. The food is delicious. Our tip: the nut salad with cod.

Bakery Andreas Kasten, Kloster

Bakery Kasten is an institution on Hiddensee. The classic double rolls are an integral part of the island. In addition to the sales room, there is a self-service café and a cozy garden.

Kleiner Prinz, Süderend

The restaurant in the Dünenhaus opposite the Sparkasse is now called Süderend after the “Kleiner Prinz”. The chef, kitchen and equipment are unchanged. Still the tastiest offering on the island!

Heiderose offers 34 spacious rooms. Available options include double rooms, single rooms, and a suite. Some of the double rooms have a balcony or terrace. The balconies and terraces face towards the Bodden. All rooms are equipped with a Nespresso coffee machine for a quick start in the morning. From the balconies, you have a beautiful panoramic view towards the Bodden and Rügen. Towards the Bodden, you will also find our very large, natural garden where you can find loungers for peaceful afternoons. Conference rooms are available upon request.
